Director General of Central Statistical Organization, U Htun Zaw and his team attended the 12th Session of the ASEAN Community Statistical System Committee meeting held virtually in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 21 to 23 November 2022.
The meeting was attended by officials from the National Statistics Office of ASEAN Member States; Members of the ASEAN Community Statistical System Committee and sub-committees; Working group members; Representatives from the Statistics Division (ASEANstats) and the ASEAN Integration Monitoring Directorate (AIMD); Relevant Ministries in Cambodia; Representatives from universities and the media; Agencies; International organizations and development partners.
At the meeting, the decisions of the 11th ASEAN Community Statistical System Committee Meeting were discussed. The ASEAN Heads of Statistics Offices to discuss the implementation of ACSS Strategic Plan 2016-2025 and Annual Work Plans, progress in data harmonization, and other statistical development related issues; ASEAN Regional Sustainable Cooperation Implementation Plans; Country-by-country sharing experiences, challenges and best practices; the activities of the ASEAN Community Statistical System Committee for 2021-2022 and the next steps were also discussed during the meeting. The 13th ASEAN Community Statistical System Committee Meeting and ACSS-related Meeting are scheduled to be held in Indonesia in 2023.
