Virtual Meeting on the 7th Working Group of International Merchandise Trade Statistics was held with the support of the ASEANstats on 13 – 14 July 2021. The meeting was chaired by U Htun Zaw, Director General of the Central Statistical Organization (CSO). The meeting discussed the progress in the harmonization of ASEAN Member States’ IMTS data; enhancement  of  IMTS  data  timeliness,  completeness  and  quality;  the  effectiveness  of  IMTS  data collecting, compiling, analyzing, sharing  and  dissemination;  and  ways to  better  respond  to  the  information  requirements  in  support  of economic  integration  and  development  as  envision  in  the  ASEAN  Economic  Community  (AEC) Blueprint 2025. The meeting was attended by more than 100 representatives from various statistical departments of the ASEAN Member States and the ASEANstats, including the CSO of Myanmar.
