Fourth Meeting of Statistical Data Collection Work Committee on Child Labor Eradication was held via Zoom meeting at 1 pm on 29 April 2021 at Central Statistical Organization, Office 32, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, Daw Than Than Lin, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry and Chairman of Statistical Data Collection Work Committee on Child Labor Eradication focused on the discussions made at the 4th meeting of the Myanmar National Committee on Child Labor Eradication, new formation of work committees, tasks and mandate of the Statistical Data Collection Work Committee, and the need to continuously carry out the conduct of labour force surveys in the remaining 6 Regions and States.
Director General of Central Statistical Organization, Secretary of Statistical Data Collection Work Committee on Child Labor Eradication presented on child labour survey report (2019-2020) in the Project Areas and challenges faced, conducting of surveys in other 4 Regions and States (Chin State, Sagaing Region, Magway Region, and Shan State) and the process/timeline to conduct surveys in the remaining 6 Regions and States (Kachin State, Kayah State, Taninthayi Region, Mandalay Region, and Rakhine State, Nay Pyi Taw), and technical support to be provided by the CSO. Deputy Director General of Central Statistical Organization explained detailed time schedule of the survey action plan.
Participants from respective Regions and States Statistical Data Collection Work Committee explained about updating of the committees, current situations in their areas, survey budget estimate and timeline to conduct the surveys. Members of Statistical Working Committee on Child Labor Eradication and representatives from States and Regions, officials from Central Statistical Organization with a total of 46 participants attended the meeting.
