Public-Private Partnership (PPPs) and Power Purchase Agreement (PPAs) Workshop (Naypyitaw, November 27)

Workshop for Public-Private Partnership(PPPs) and Power Purchase Agreement(PPAs) was held at Project Appraisal and Progress Reporting Department, Office No.32, Naypyitaw on 27th November. The purpose of the meeting was to understand more deeply about PPPs and PPAs, their risks and international experiences. The meeting was attended by thirty officials from four Ministries.

On behalf of Director General, Daw Ni Ni Lwin (Director) and Mr. Yasushisa Ojima, Resident Representative of IMF, delivered opening remarks at the meeting. Then, Mr. Guohua Huang (Senior Economist of Fiscal Affairs Department, IMF) explained the agenda of the workshop. Ms. Katja Funke (Expert of Fiscal Affairs Department) and Mr. Maximilien Queyranne (Economist of Fiscal Affairs Department) presented the reasons of implementing PPPs, their Pros and Cons, risks and shared some international experiences. The attendees actively discussed and asked the questions regarding with PPPs and concluded the workshop at 12:30 PM completely.
